CULLMAN, Ala. — Cullman County nonprofit leaders and community organizations now have access to a powerful new funding research resource through the Cullman County Public Library System.

Library officials recently announced the availability of Candid, a comprehensive tool designed to help nonprofits identify potential funding sources for programs, services and projects.

Candid was previously known as the Foundation Center and GuideStar and is widely used nationwide for grant research and nonprofit development.

The database allows users to search for grant-making foundations, explore current funding opportunities and review detailed profiles of funders and past grants awarded.

In addition to funding data, Candid also provides tools and training resources aimed at strengthening grant-writing skills and improving organizational effectiveness.

Access to Candid is available at no cost to library patrons. However, the resource can only be used while inside one of the library’s branches and connected to the library’s Wi-Fi network.

Patrons can access Candid by visiting the library’s Online Resources page at cullmanlib.org/online-resources while on-site at a library location.

The program is provided through support from the Alabama Public Library Service, which works to expand access to educational and professional resources through public libraries across the state.

Library officials said the addition of Candid is intended to strengthen local nonprofits by giving them professional-grade research tools that are often costly or difficult to access independently, helping community organizations better compete for funding and grow their impact.
