BREMEN, Ala. – After falling in a shootout on the road last week, the Cold Springs Eagles were back home Friday night to host a region matchup against Cleveland. The Eagles maintained their offensive momentum they’ve built so far this season and lit up the scoreboard once again on their way to a 54-22 win over the Panthers.

A touchdown pass from quarterback Ayden Black to Eli Voce gave the Eagles an early, 8-0 lead and Cason Alexander added a rushing touchdown in the final minute of the first quarter to stretch the lead to 16-0. Another Alexander touchdown made it a 22-0 game with just under three minutes remaining in the second quarter and Cold Springs went into the locker room with a three-touchdown lead at halftime.

Black scampered into the end zone from 50 yards out to extend the Eagles’ lead to 30-0 early in the third quarter and Black found Breydon Hallmon through the air for another score later in the third to make it 38-0. Cleveland was able to get on the board and trim the lead to 38-6 but Cold Springs got the points back when Cooper Johnson scored on a 30-yard run and put the Eagles ahead 46-6. After another Panthers touchdown, Cooper Johnson punched one into the end zone to make it a 54-14 game and Cold Springs went on to win it 54-22.

The Eagles (2-2) will travel to Winston County next week.
