CULLMAN, Ala. – Cullman Christian School has officially purchased the Beech Avenue property it has called home since 2020. The school purchased the property from the Cullman County Center for the Developmentally Disabled, Inc. (CCCDD) for an undisclosed amount, according to school officials. The occasion was marked by a ribbon cutting with the Cullman Area Chamber of Commerce on Wednesday, July 30, 2025.

Cullman Christian School first opened its doors with 68 students in the basement of East Side Baptist Church in 2006. It began as a kindergarten through eighth-grade program and eventually expanded to a Pre-K through 12th-grade school.

Since the beginning, the school has faced its fair share of challenges, including the 2011 tornado that destroyed East Side Baptist Church, forcing the school to relocate multiple times. In every season of uncertainty and despite all obstacles, school leaders said, God remained faithful to provide. With support from local churches like The Refuge Church and the Cullman Church of the Nazarene, Cullman Christian School was able to finish that school year and continue its mission.

For several years, Seventh Street Baptist Church graciously offered the school a home, until 2020—when, amid the COVID-19 pandemic, school leaders said God led the school in a new direction. The school entered a lease agreement with the CCCDD and moved into its current location on Beech Avenue.

“While this relocation may have been perceived as unconventional and risky by some, we walked in faith, trusting in Him and motivated by how to increase our impact for Him,” school officials shared.

Cullman Christian School has continued to grow and thrive. In 2023, it expanded to a second campus at the Desperation Church Student Center, and it has now finalized the purchase of the Beech Avenue property, which allows the school to begin planning for further development and long-term growth. School officials said this is a testimony to God’s faithfulness, the power of prayer and the unwavering support of a Christ-centered community.

Cullman Christian School’s Beech Avenue campus is located at 1803 Beech Ave. SE.
