CLANTON – Wednesday, 5:00 am, August 19, 2026
A Heat Advisory remains in effect for portions of the state into this evening with afternoon heat index values from 104-112.

Isolated to scattered thunderstorms are forecast to develop this afternoon across the western half of the state. Isolated wind gusts from 40-60 mph and hail are the threats.
Isolated to scattered thunderstorms are forecast statewide Thursday afternoon and evening, with a higher concentration of activity north of I-20 Thursday evening. A couple of storms in the northwestern sections may produce wind gusts from 40-60 mph during the evening hours.
Scattered thunderstorms are once again forecast statewide Friday afternoon and evening, and a few wind gusts from 40-60 mph remain possible. I would not be surprised to see portions of the state placed under a Marginal Risk by the SPC in later updates.
Scattered thunderstorms are forecast in the far southeastern counties on Saturday. Otherwise, dry conditions will occur through Sunday.
