
CULLMAN, Ala. – The City of Cullman Planning Commission met on Tuesday, July 7, for its monthly meeting. The commissioners approved the minutes of the previous meeting and went on to public hearings.
The Link of Cullman County’s conditional use request at 117 Second Ave. NE to relocate, was withdrawn from the agenda.
The following public hearing items were approved:
- Short form subdivision – County Road 1473 – divide one parcel into two parcels
- Amendment to the Zoning Ordinance, Chapter 62 Section 38 – walls and fences
- Short form subdivision – 20 County Road 499 – move property line
- Preliminary subdivision – Brock Trace Subdivision – County Road 1464 and County Road 1466
The public hearings were closed and no one spoke in opposition.
Commissioners went on to address the following subdivision requests:
- Short form subdivision – County Road 1473 – divide one parcel into two parcels
- Final plat – Maple Grove Subdivision (off Highway 157 NE & Warnke Way NE) – 35 lots
- Short form subdivision – 20 County Road 499 – move property line
- Preliminary subdivision – Brock Trace Subdivision – County Road 1464 and County Road 1466
All items were approved.
The Commission also addressed the following proposed site plan:
- Premier Bank of the South – Second Avenue Northwest / First Avenue Northwest
Commissioners approved the proposed site plan, with contingencies.
A few miscellaneous items on the agenda consisted of a conditional use request at 117 Second Ave. NE for the relocation of The Link, which was withdrawn.
The Commission made a favorable recommendation for the annexation request at 1811 County Road 1301 as well as an amendment to the Zoning Ordinance, Chapter 62 Section 38 – walls and fences. This was addressed by the Cullman City Council at their meeting on Monday, June 15, 2026.
The council set a public hearing for this item for July 20, 2026, at the city hall auditorium at 7 p.m. to amend the zoning ordinance section 62-38.
