Funeral services for Sarah Alice Walker, 84, of Hanceville will be 11 a.m., Tuesday, April 14th at Hanceville Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow the service at Center Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be prior to the service from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at Hanceville Funeral Home.

Mrs. Walker was born September 19, 1941, in Tennessee to the late Benjamin & Lucille McGill. She passed away April 12, 2026, in Hanceville, Alabama.

Sarah Alice Walker, of Hanceville, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of strength, love, and devotion to her family.

Sarah was a loving mother and grandmother who found her greatest joy in caring for those she loved. Her family was the center of her world, and she treasured every moment spent with them. She had a special love for crafts and flowers, especially African violets. Her creativity and gentle spirit were reflected in everything she made and nurtured.

Sarah was a true fighter, courageously battling and surviving cancer four times. Her resilience and determination were an inspiration to all who knew her, a testament to her strength and faith.

She also found simple joy in life’s quiet moments, especially riding around on Sunday afternoons, taking in the beauty of the world around her.

Sarah will be deeply missed by her family and friends, but her love, strength, and memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her

Mrs. Walker is survived by her children, Kenneth Brockman (Lynn), Eddie Brockman, Debbie Cockran (Stone), Lisa Ivey, Jane Bullit, Teresa Brockman Price; sister, Rachel Newman; and a host of grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Mrs. Walker was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Walker; son, Bobby Brockman; grandson, Bo Brockman; and her brothers, Tom McGill, Roy McGill, John McGill.

Serving as pallbearers will be Cameron Brockman, Sam Neighbors, Kelly Elliot, Jackson Wilkens, Brodye Bagwell, and J.C. Corneglio.
