With the 2025-2026 school year coming to a close, registration for next year is now open at Cullman Christian School. The school welcomes families to learn more about enrolling, as the school continues to grow and expand its campus.

Principal Heath Yearwood explained that the school’s foundation is a Christ-centered approach to education, which he believes makes it unique.

“What I think that is a little different about Cullman Christian is our Christ-centered education first,” Yearwood said. “We do teach from a biblical worldview and that’s something we have embedded in each of our areas of curriculum.” He encouraged families interested in enrolling to schedule a campus tour through the school’s website, noting that some grades already have waiting lists. “I would encourage you, first of all, to schedule a tour. It allows you to come and see what it looks like at our school, and we think that you’re going to really enjoy what you see.”

Cullman Christian is a private school that charges tuition, but Yearwood said families can choose from several financial options, including scholarships. He also pointed out that the school offers a variety of academic and extracurricular activities for students to grow and explore.

“We are a classical Christian school,” he said. “We teach Latin starting in the third grade and we also do a lot with our arts, our theater. We have a choir, and in the upper school they’ll learn to play the piano, guitar.”

Part of Alabama High School Athletic Association Class 1A, the school offers sports like cross-country, volleyball, basketball, track and field, golf and archery.

Since Yearwood became principal four years ago, the school has grown from about 180 students to an expected 340 to 350 students next year.

“The Lord’s really blessed our school. The challenge is trying to find places to put everybody and meet the needs of our community,” he said.

To keep up with this growth, the school has added classroom space through a partnership with Desperation Church and opened a secondary campus at Depot Park for grades 7-12. Yearwood said more expansion is planned, with construction on new classrooms and possibly a lunchroom starting soon.

“We’re going to start building 10 rooms and possibly a lunchroom out back if everything plays out like we hope it will,” he said.

Yearwood said being part of the school has been very meaningful.

“I feel very fortunate to be at Cullman Christian,” he said. “The teachers are amazing. Just seeing what they pour in and out of the classroom every day to our kids is amazing.”
