HANCEVILLE, Ala. – Entrepreneurs and nonprofit leaders met at Wallace State Community College March 26-27 for the All the Hats conference. The two-day event offered practical tools, resources and connections to help them grow and sustain their work.

CEO of Good Grit and Co-Founder of All the Hats, Samantha Southerland, said the conference was created after noticing a common challenge among clients: many had the passion to succeed but lacked access to key resources and guidance.

“We saw people who knew what they wanted to do, but didn’t always have the tools to get there. We wanted to bring experts together so attendees could leave feeling equipped and inspired.”

The event addressed a range of challenges facing business owners and nonprofit leaders, including burnout, knowledge gaps in finance and marketing and difficulty navigating funding opportunities such as grants. Organizers designed the conference to connect attendees directly with experts who could provide guidance and ongoing support.

The conference featured workshops and panels on topics like marketing strategies, AI, investing and nonprofit operations.

Laura Quick led an investors panel that brought together different perspectives and expertise. Speakers included Fractional CFO and Financial Strategist Lindsay Neal; Founding Managing Partner of Measured Capital Douglas Watson; and Chhavi-Goel Parker, a financial advisor and wealth strategist with Morgan Stanley who traveled from New York to join the event.

Organizers worked to create an environment that encouraged connection and collaboration. Attendees received giveaways, took part in interactive sessions and met other professionals and potential partners.

One highlight was the presentation of Impact Awards, which gave recipients seed funding to support their work. Heirlooms Fine & Performing Arts won the Small Business Impact Award and The Link of Cullman County was recognized in the nonprofit category.

Southerland said she hopes attendees left with useful resources and strong relationships.

“The goal is for them to walk away with a blueprint to level up their business and a network of people they can continue learning from,” she said.

Organizers plan to hold the conference again next year in Cullman. Updates and registration details will be posted at Facebook/All The Hats and https://allthehatsconference.com.
