CULLMAN, Ala. – Volunteers are being sought for the upcoming Cullman County People Against a Littered State (PALS) roadway cleanup scheduled for April 11-18, 2026.

Cullman County PALS is organizing the effort as part of its ongoing mission to keep local roadways clean and promote community pride.

Organizers say volunteers will be provided with bags, gloves and safety vests, and arrangements will be made to pick up all filled trash bags following the cleanup.

    Several roadways across Cullman County have been identified as needing attention, including County Roads 490, 1545, 38, 698, 222, 601, 1843, 1669, 1354, 1223, 1114, 1101, 831, 813, 437, 109, 747, 1141, 1763 and 703.

“Working together for an un-littered Alabama” remains the organization’s guiding message as it encourages residents to take part in the effort.

Those interested in volunteering or adopting a road can contact Cherrie Haney at 256-531-4222.

Additional bags will be available for pickup at the Cullman County PALS location.

Organizers ask that participants place full bags as far off the roadway as possible in each direction and notify coordinators if all collected bags will not fit in a personal vehicle.

Cullman County PALS encourages residents to take part and help improve the appearance of local roadways throughout the county.
