2 arrested in Baileyton after stolen trailer recovered, drugs seized

BAILEYTON, Ala. – Two Baileyton men were arrested following the recovery of stolen property and the alleged discovery of drugs during the execution of a search warrant, according to the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office.

The investigation began after a utility trailer and a boat were reported stolen March 20 in the Joppa area. Deputies later recovered the stolen boat a short time after the theft.

On March 25, investigators with the MCSO Criminal Investigations Division executed a search warrant in the 600 block of Double S Mountain Road in Baileyton in connection to the case. 

The operation was assisted by the Fugitive Unit, Drug Enforcement Unit and patrol deputies.

Authorities made contact at the residence with Jimmy Ray Stillwell, 36, of Baileyton, and Timothy Levi Stillwell, 39, of Baileyton.

During the search, deputies allegedly recovered the stolen utility trailer. Investigators also reported finding drug paraphernalia and a quantity of methamphetamine at the location.

Jimmy Ray Stillwell was charged with third-degree robbery, second-degree receiving stolen property, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, unlawful possession of a controlled substance and an outstanding warrant with other agencies.

Timothy Levi Stillwell was charged with unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, unlawful possession of a controlled substance and an outstanding warrant for failure to appear on a promoting prison contraband charge.

Both men were transported to the Morgan County Jail.
