CULLMAN, Ala.- The Alabama High School Athletic Association released updated classifications for winter sports, notably basketball, for 2026-28. Following suit with fall sports, the AHSAA split public and private schools for postseason competition, now recognizing six public classes and two private. Notably, Cullman High School moved from 6A to 5A, West Point from 5A to 4A and local private schools Cullman Christian and Saint Bernard are now in the separate Single-A Private class.
