    Pink Moon – April 1, 2026

The Lenten Moon, Paschal Full Moon or the last Full Moon of winter. It has many names, but “pink” is not entirely accurate. This name comes from the early blooming flower called “pink moss phlox” keying the moon’s name. April Fools!

Viewing will be best after sunset on Wednesday, April 1, at roughly 7:44 p.m. through 9:12 p.m.

    Flower Moon – May 1, 2026

The name comes from the common phrase, “April showers bring May flowers.” In May, flower growth is very common across North America as we leap through spring and prepare for summer!

On Friday, May 1, 2026, the Flower Moon will reach its peak at 11:56 a.m.

    Blue Moon – May 31, 2026

Not to be confused with a certain alcoholic beverage! This moon gets its name from the phrase, “Once in a blue moon.” There is typically one full moon every month, though every two to three years there are two full moons in a calendar month. A Blue Moon is when two full moons happen in one month.

Early birds – viewing will be best Sunday, May 31, 2026, at 3:45 a.m.

Stay tuned for more as we approach summer!
