Funeral Mass for Dwight Stancil, age 79 of Cullman, will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at Sacred Heart Church with Father John O’Donnell, OSB and Father Patrick Egan, OSB, officiating; burial at Sacred Heart Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at Sacred Heart Church, with Rosary Prayer service to follow at 7:30 p.m.
Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Stancil passed away on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at his residence. He was born, May 9, 1946, to Eric Stancil and Carmon Nail Stancil.
He was preceded in death by his parents and mother-in-law, Ruth Muldner Hoffman.
Survivors include his wife, Elaine Hoffman Stancil: daughters, Melinda Cleghorn and Yvonne Stancil; grandsons, Spencer Hale, Grayson Webster (Kelsee) and Jake Cleghorn; granddaughter, Magan Judy (Cole); great granddaughters, Olivia Webster and Carter Webster and sister-in-law, Janet Brown (Clifton) and numerous family and friends.
Dwight loved his wife of 60 years, his daughters, his grandchildren and his great granddaughters. His passions were bass fishing and Alabama Football.
