IN LOVING MEMORY OF MS. JUANITA JACKSON

On February 13, 2026, our beloved Ms. Juanita Jackson left this earthly life to return to the open arms of her creator.

Juanita Jackson was born August 11, 1941, in Brownsville, Tennessee to the late Percy and Jannie Jones. In her later life she became a resident of Detroit, Michigan where she met her late husband, Rufus Jackson. She also began her career as a cosmetologist. Rufus and Juanita became the proud parents of three sons. After retiring both Rufus and Juanita became residents of Hanceville, Alabama. Juanita was known for her gentle, sweet, caring nature and hospitality.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers Davis and John Jones, and granddaughter Shawndrea Lathan and great granddaughter Dejaye Johnson.

Juanita is survived by her three sons LaMarr Jones (Patty), Shawn Jones (Comedia), and Rufus Jones. One daughter, Tammi Johnson (David) Two brothers, James Jones, and Percy Jones Jr. One sister Roberta Bells. Fifteen grandchildren, twenty-five great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, and nephews.

For 84 years Juanita lived a life marked by strength, convictions, and deep love for her family. She was a woman of steady courage and undeniable presence—a true Leo in spirit. Juanita carried herself with confidence and dignity. When she entered a room, you felt her strength before she even spoke. Yet behind that strength was a nurturing heart. Juanita loved fiercely. She protected her family. She guided us. She disciplined us in her own way—not out of harshness, but out of hope. She saw who we could become, and she refused to let us settle for less. (THAT’S OUR MOMMA)

The Bible says in Proverbs 31:25, “She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come.”

That scripture reflects Juanita’s life.  She endured challenges with grace.  She faced adversity with resilience.  Even when life tested her, she remained firm in her faith and unwavering in her commitment to her family.
