Gambino (Cullman County Animal Shelter)

CULLMAN, Ala. – Meet Gambino, a domestic shorthair estimated to be about 3 years old, and a cat whose presence quietly fills a room. He’s The Cullman Tribune Pet of the Week.

With what can only be described as personality plus, Gambino greets attention with soft purrs and gentle meows, never demanding but always hopeful. His gratitude shows in the small things, rolling onto his back, offering his pudgy face for scratches and soaking up every bit of affection like it matters, because to him, it does.

Gambino thrives on positive affirmation. Tell him he is a very good boy and he believes you, wholeheartedly. That reassurance settles him, grounds him and allows his calm, loving nature to shine through. He is content being near you, close enough to feel connected, making him an ideal companion or therapy kitty for someone who values quiet comfort over constant activity.

And yes, this sweet fellow has an impressive appetite, another endearing reminder that Gambino is fully invested in enjoying life, one meal and one gentle moment at a time. Unassuming, grateful, and deeply affectionate, Gambino is the kind of cat who doesn’t ask for much – just kindness, consistency and a place to belong.

His $100 adoption fee helps cover neutering, vaccinations, microchipping, routine veterinary care and the many unseen costs that go into preparing animals like Gambino for safe and healthy transitions into forever homes.

Visit the Cullman County Animal Shelter at 935 Convent Road NE. It’s open Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Contact the shelter at 256-734-5448 or cullmananimalshelter@co.cullman.al.us.

If Gambino has already found his forever home by the time you call or visit, be sure to ask about his friends who are still waiting.
