Carolyn Trammell passed away peacefully on February 6th, surrounded by her family. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend, and a faithful servant of the Lord. Carolyn’s life was marked by generosity, humility, and a steadfast faith that could move mountains.
Carolyn lived selflessly, always placing the needs of others before her own. For years she worked side by side with her husband in construction – work that would have been too hard for most men. Later she found a career in car sales where she was the top seller for many years at Cullman Dodge & Chrysler. Whether she was selling a car or singing a song with a customer, she always had a smile on her face. She worked tirelessly with quiet acts of generosity, opening her heart, table, and home to anyone in need. She believed deeply in giving all she had to those around her.
Her faith was the foundation of her life. She loved the Lord with her whole heart and shared that love through gospel music – filling churches and homes with song. Whether singing or playing, her music was a testimony of her love for the Lord and a life well lived.
As a wife, she was steadfast and loving. She and her husband Donald, shared 54 years of hard work, love and devotion raising a family and building a life together. As a mother and grandmother, she was nurturing, patient, and endlessly supportive. Her children and grandchildren were her greatest joy. Her legacy lives on in the values she instilled: faith, hard work, compassion, and love for others.
Carolyn leaves behind her beloved husband, Donald; her children, Tammy (Tommy) Jacobs ,Wayne Trammell, and Stacey (Kyle) Tankersley ; her grandchildren, Tiffanie Lawrence, Trisha Phillips, Natalie Trammell, Trammell Tankersley, Tucker Tankersley, Tyler Tankersley, Chase Jacobs, and Madison Jacobs; and a host of extended family, friends, and church family who were blessed by her life. She was preceded in death by her parents Grady and Opal Gorham, and her grandson Logan Trammell.
Though she will be deeply missed, we rejoice in knowing she has heard the words she lived by: “Welcome home my precious child, you’ve kept the faith.” Her song continues in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
