
CULLMAN, Ala. – Cullman County 4-H will kick off two of its outdoor-focused programs in the coming weeks, with Wildlife and Shotgun Clubs opening registration for the season.
The 4-H Wildlife Club will begin meeting Wednesday, Feb. 25. Practices will be held Wednesdays from 3:30-5 p.m. at the Cullman County Extension Office, located at 402 Arnold St. NE in Cullman.
The club is open to youth ages 9-18, and participants will compete in a state contest scheduled for May 29.
The 4-H Shotgun Club will begin practices Wednesday, March 11. Practices will be held Wednesdays from 4-5:30 p.m. at Barrett Field, located at 228 E. Moehring Road in Cullman.
The shotgun program is also open to youth ages 9-18 and concludes with a state contest scheduled for May 22-24.
Participants in the shotgun program must provide their own firearm and bring two boxes of shells to each practice.
Both programs are open to youth ages 9-18 as of Jan. 1, 2026. Youth must be enrolled in 4-H through the 4HOnline system in order to participate.
Each club offers hands-on instruction, skill development and competitive opportunities at the state level.
