CLANTON, Ala. – Monday, Jan. 26, 7 a.m.

Flurries occurred across the northern half of the state overnight, with some snow showers near and north of the Tennessee River, resulting in up to 1/4 inch of accumulation.  This added to the already icy roadway conditions.  Flurries will continue this morning north of I-20.

There could be icy spots on roadways this morning from any standing water that froze overnight, especially north of I-20.

Temperatures near and north of I-20 will not get above freezing today, ranging from the 20s north to 30s central to middle 40s south.  With breezy winds, wind chills will range from the teens north to 30s south. Temperatures tonight will be in the single digits north and mostly teens elsewhere except lower 20s in the far south.

The very cold temperatures will continue Tuesday through Friday with highs each day mainly in the 30s and 40s and lows in the teens and 20s.

It will remain dry through the weekend. Models last week were showing potential winter precipitation this weekend but have now trended dry.
