Mrs. Dye was born November 9, 1957, in Athens, Alabama to the late Henry & Mary Phillips.  She passed away January 17, 2026, in Birmingham, Alabama. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and a grandmother whose life was deep in faith, family, and love. A God-fearing woman who loved the Lord dearly, she lived her faith daily through kindness, service, and dedication to those around her. Known for her quick wit, sharp mind, and sense of humor, she could make anyone laugh and feel at ease. She truly never met a stranger—everyone was a friend she simply hadn’t met yet. To know her was to love her, and her legacy of faith, laughter, and love will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.

Mrs. Dye is survived by her husband of 50 years, Johnny Dye; children, Joseph Dye, Crystal Jackson, Andrea Dye, Brittnie Dye (David Byrne); grandchildren, Evan Dye, Riley Dye, Aidan Dye, Alaja Cox, Trinity Lambert, Peyton Lambert, Scarlett Joslyn, Siena Joslyn, Hunter Joslyn; one great grandson on the way, Arthur Rayne; siblings, Virginia Woods, Marie Bell; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Dye was preceded in death by her parents, Henry & Mary Phillips; siblings, Bobby Phillips, Barbara Pruitt, Barry Phillips; nieces Talitha Phillips and Angela Vincent; 3 grandbabies, Ciara Dye, Orion Pace and Isaiah Wade.

Hanceville Funeral Home is honored to serve the Dye Family.
