CULLMAN, Ala. – Cullman City Primary School is one of just nine schools in the state of Alabama to be awarded a 2025 Safe School Award from Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall.

The selection process featured a comprehensive four-phase application and review process by judges who have skill and knowledge in school safety trends. Nine schools from across the state of Alabama were selected to receive the Safe School Award, the highest achievement.

“Through the Alabama Safe Schools Initiative, we are proud to recognize schools that are leading the way with innovative, proactive approaches to student safety,” Marshall said in a statement. “This year’s winners have formulated and simulated critical collaboration that demonstrates a strong commitment to creating secure environments where learning can thrive. Their dedication sets a powerful example, and I look forward to continuing to highlight effective school safety strategies for administrators, school resource officers, parents and students across Alabama.”

In addition to Cullman City Primary School, the other winners include ACCEL Academy in Mobile, Orange Beach Middle & High School in Orange Beach, Northside High School in Northport, Beauregard Elementary School in Opelika, Allen Thornton Career Technical Center in Killen, Eastwood Elementary School in Decatur, Elvin Hill Elementary School in Columbiana and Harriette W Gwin Elementary School in Hoover.

Marshall will visit each school to present the awards in person.
