EVA, Ala. – Jeremy Oden officially qualified Jan. 14,  as a candidate for re-election to the Alabama Public Service Commission, Place 1.

Oden announced his reelection campaign back in September 2025.

Below is Oden’s announcement from Jan. 14:

“It has been the greatest honor of my life to serve the great State of Alabama on the Public Service Commission,” Oden said. “During my time as Commissioner, Alabama’s PSC has been recognized as one of the most conservative public utility regulatory commissions in America. I am proud of that record, and I will work diligently every day to ensure our conservative PSC maintains that distinction.”

Oden qualified alongside his wife of more than 23 years, Samantha, his daughter Anika, his goddaughter Tayler, and his god-granddaughter Ellie.

“I am proud to be a candidate for re-election as Public Service Commissioner, Place 1, because I truly believe I am the best-qualified candidate for this job,” Oden said. “I love the people of Alabama, and I have been humbled by their continued support. I look forward to earning the opportunity to serve them again.”

Commissioner Oden is a nationally recognized expert in public utility regulation and energy policy. He has been selected for numerous leadership roles at the national level, including President of the Southeastern Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners, Board Member of the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners, Chairman of NARUC’s Subcommittee on Clean Coal and Carbon Management, Chair of the Department of Energy Fossil Fuel Partnership, a presidential appointee to the National Coal Council, and a member of the Nuclear Waste Strategy Coalition. He is frequently called upon across the country as a national spokesman on utility regulation and energy policy.

A lifelong Republican, Oden served as a state co-chair for President Donald Trump’s 2020 presidential campaign. He has been elected statewide multiple times as Alabama Public Service Commissioner, Place 1, and previously served in the Alabama House of Representatives from Cullman, Blount, and Morgan counties from 1998 to 2012. Throughout his career, he has been recognized by numerous associations, advocacy groups, and fellow legislators for excellence in leadership, including multiple “Legislator of the Year” awards.
