HOLLY POND, Ala. – Sugar & Steam: Bakery & Coffee was opened in October 2025 by Bo and Katie Johnson. Prior to opening the shop, they had Alabama Mug Coffee, a mobile business.
All the coffee and baked goods are made in-house. There are a variety of cake slices, cookies and other pre-made goodies on display. The sweet, ready-to-grab n’ go baked goods are perfect in addition to an iced coffee, frappe or latte.
The shop offers catering, but it is advised to call three days or more in advance depending on the request. Delivery is also offered to customers within 5 miles of the store on orders exceeding $10.
“There are several pop-up specials,” Katie Johnson said.
Sugar & Steam is open Monday through Wednesday from 7 a.m -1 p.m. and Thursday-Friday from 7 a.m.-4 p.m. It’s located at 10865 U.S. Highway 278 in Holly Pond, next to town hall.
