CULLMAN, Ala. – Lotus Health Inc., a Cullman-based nonprofit focused on holistic and preventive health, will host a Women’s Health Forum on Saturday, Jan. 31, at The Venue at Cotton Creek, offering free public access to exhibitors, health screenings and educational resources.
Aleah Pilgrim, president of Lotus Health, said the organization focuses on providing resources and referrals while developing wellness programs designed to “meet them where they are.” The nonprofit is building preventive health packages that combine lifestyle medicine visits, mobile telehealth appointments and mental wellness support through group programming and collaborations with counselors. Additional options may include chiropractic care, massage therapy or a gym membership.
The upcoming Women’s Health Forum is designed to bring together community partners, health providers and local leaders while creating space for discussion around women’s health, wellness and safety issues, including topics that are not always widely addressed. The forum is open to both women and men, organizers said, noting that many participating community leaders and political figures are men.
In addition to screenings and community discussions, the forum will emphasize education, particularly in women’s health and fertility awareness. Pilgrim said Lotus Health offers educational programming led by its director of education, including classes designed to help young women better understand their reproductive health. The organization hopes to expand access to these programs locally as part of its broader goal to fill gaps in preventive care and support women as caregivers within the community.
The event will be held Saturday, Jan. 31, at The Venue at Cotton Creek. The public portion will take place from noon-5 p.m. Exhibition hours will run from noon-4 p.m. and will include exhibitors and health screenings. From 4-5 p.m., the forum will host a podcast-style question-and-answer session with political candidates who have agreed to participate.
Following the public forum, an invitation-only dinner and meet-and-greet is scheduled from 6-8 p.m. for speakers, sponsors and vendors who purchase tickets. Registration information for the dinner, as well as exhibitor and sponsor opportunities, is available through an online form at www.lotushealthinc.org/events/womens-health-forum.
Pilgrim said the forum will include a strong educational component and aims to raise awareness while connecting attendees with local organizations and services. Lotus Health also plans to continue expanding its referral network to direct individuals to additional resources when the nonprofit is unable to meet specific needs.
