HANCEVILLE, Ala. – Wallace State Community College hosted its annual Christmas Spectacular on Thursday, Dec. 11, celebrating the holiday season through music, dance and performances that left audience members cheering and applauding.

The variety-style showcase featuring all of Wallace State’s artistic ensembles, including the Concert Choir, Concert Band, Jazz Band, Percussion Ensemble, Pride Line Dancers and the Wallace State Singers.

Tiffany Richter, music instructor at Wallace State, said the Christmas Spectacular is the department’s annual gift to the community. “It’s a performance where all of our ensembles come together in a celebration of music and the season,” she said.

The showcase has been a campus tradition since 2016 and continues to grow. Richter said the production has become a unifying experience for students, faculty, staff and the community. “It’s the one performance that brings all of our ensembles into one show,” she said. “Families get to see the full range of talent on our campus, and it truly brings our community together.”

Richter also praised the dedication of Wallace State students, many of whom are new to performing in large ensembles. “Learning to work as an ensemble can be challenging, but seeing their success on stage and the audience’s response fills me with holiday spirit,” she said. “I hope everyone left with an appreciation for our students’ hard work and a little Christmas cheer to carry them through the season.”
