Funeral Service for Larry James Johns, age 75, of Cullman, will be at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at Cullman Heritage Funeral Home with Darryl Bailey officiating; burial at Etha Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. on Tuesday, December 16, 20252025,Cullman Heritage Funeral Home.

Mr. Johns passed away on Saturday, December 13, 2025, surrounded by his family. He was born August 17, 1950, to Ellis Johns and Edna Bailey Johns. He was a graduate of Fairview High School Class 1968 and the first drummer of the Fairview Band. He then went on to serve 2 years in the US Army during the Vietnam Draft, where he received the National Defense Service Medal & Sharpshooter awards. After returning home he went on to graduate from the police academy and served on the Hanceville Police Department, the Cullman County Sheriff’s Office, and with Fairview Volunteer Fire Department. Larry was best known for his years in autobody and garage doors. Not only did he serve his country & community, but he also fiercely served & loved his family.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Rebecca Ann Johns; parents and his beloved son, Daniel Johns.

Survivors include his daughter, Misty (Shine) Woods; grandson; Kaleb (Meg) Hudson granddaughter, Lona (Drew) Robertson; great grandchildren, Kase, Leah, Ozlee, Wilder Hudson, and Lucille “Lucy” Robertson arriving March 2026; Kristie Edmonson (Chris) whom he loved as his daughter and bonus grandchildren, Esther, Ellis & Bella Edmonson, and a host of extended family & friends.
