CULLMAN, Ala. – The Cullman County Sheriff’s Office hosted over 1,700 kids at the special needs rodeo at the Cullman County Agricultural Trade Center Thursday, Dec. 11.
Sheriff Matt Gentry said the special needs rodeo is one of the best ways to kick off the Cullman County Sheriff’s Office Jimmy Arrington Memorial Rodeo week each year.
“It’s truly heartwarming to see the smiles and joy on the kids’ faces,” he said. “This event is special not only for them, but for every one of us here at the sheriff’s office. We’re grateful for the incredible support from our citizens, volunteers and sponsors who help make this day possible. It remains one of the highlights of our entire year.”
Gentry said he’ll always believe children are the greatest blessing.
“The special needs rodeo holds a very special place in my heart,” he said. “Each year, our team looks forward to this day because it reminds us why we do what we do. Watching the pure joy and excitement on the kids’ faces — and seeing that same joy spread to the adults around them — is one of the most rewarding experiences we could ever have. It truly fills us with gratitude and pride to be part of something so meaningful.”
The CCSO provided lunch for all attendees. Also, Chick-fil-A donated gift cards.
“Thank you to everyone who helps us celebrate and support these amazing kids,” Gentry said. “We look forward to another great rodeo week.”
