Vinemont Town Council addresses municipal funds and surplus equipment

VINEMONT, Ala. – The Vinemont Town Council held its regularly scheduled monthly meeting on Monday, Dec. 8, addressing financial updates and municipal equipment during a brief session.

Council members approved two resolutions during the meeting. Resolution No. 2025-12-01 authorized the closure of the Municipal Park Fund account previously held at Merchants Bank/SouthPoint, with all funds to be transferred to Premier Bank of the South. Resolution No. 2025-12-02 approved the sale or disposal of surplus municipal equipment no longer needed for public use, including a John Deere Gator, a golf cart, an air compressor, two generators and a 2013 Chevy Equinox.

The meeting concluded with a reminder of an upcoming community event: 

  • Senior Citizens Day will be held Monday, Dec. 15, from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Vinemont Community Center

The next meeting of the Vinemont Town Council will take place Tuesday, Jan. 6, at Vinemont Town Hall. The work session will begin at 5:30 p.m., followed by the regular meeting at 6. Vinemont Town Hall is located at 36 Patton Dr.
