ARLEY, Ala. – Meek toppled Woodville on the road in the opening round last week but the Tigers had their hands full when they returned home to host top-ranked Wadley in round two Friday night. The Bulldogs built a 32-0 lead in the first half and continued pulling away in the second half on their way to a 52-8 win, ending Meek’s season in the second round.

The Bulldogs got off to a fast start in this one, scoring on their first possession of the night to take an early, 8-0 lead. Wadley recovered on onside kick on the ensuing kickoff and cashed in with another touchdown to make it 16-0. The Bulldogs tacked on one more touchdown before the end of the first to extend their lead to 24-0 going into the second.

Wadley scored again to make it a 32-0 game midway through the second quarter and that was the score when we hit halftime.

The Bulldogs tacked on 20 more points in the third quarter to take a 52-0 lead into the fourth. Aiden Benson got the Tigers on the board later in the fourth with a 2-yard touchdown run. Hunter Wyatt punched in the two-point conversion to trim the lead to 52-8 with four minutes on the clock but they couldn’t chip away any more than that and Meek’s season came to an end with a 52-8 loss to Wadley.

Meek finishes the season 8-4 after advancing to the playoffs for the fifth consecutive season.
