RAINBOW CITY, Ala. – The Vinemont Eagles traveled to Rainbow City for a first-round matchup against Westbrook Christian Friday night and they had their hands full with the Warriors. The Eagles trailed 21-0 at halftime and the Warriors continued pulling away in the second half on their way to a 49-0 win.

Westbrook Christian drove down the field and scored on its opening possession to take a 7-0 lead midway through the first quarter. The Warriors added another touchdown in the final two minutes of the first to take a 14-0 lead into the second. Another touchdown made it a 21-0 game with 4:41 remaining in the second quarter and that was the score when we hit halftime.

Westbrook Christian continued pulling away in the third, scoring 21 points in the period to take a 42-0 lead into the fourth. The Warriors found the end zone more time in the final frame to cap a 49-0 win over the Eagles.

Vinemont finishes the season 6-5 after advancing to the state playoffs for the sixth consecutive year.
