CULLMAN, Ala. – Two annual clean-up events are scheduled for early November, inviting volunteers to help preserve and protect Cullman’s valuable lake resources.
Volunteers will gather at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2025, at the main boat ramp on Lake Catoma for a morning of shoreline and water-way trash and debris collection. A rain-out date is set for Thursday, Nov. 6, if weather intervenes.
The following day, Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2025, the clean-up shifts to Duck River Reservoir, again beginning at 8 a.m. from the east boat launch, with a rain-out option on Friday, Nov. 7.
The event was promoted on Facebook with the tagline, “Tag your friends and meet us there!” A contact phone number is 256-739-0266 for more information.
These events are part of the broader initiative by Cullman Utilities (Water & Power) and the City’s Water/Wastewater Department to keep Cullman’s reservoirs, lake shores and boat ramps clean, safe and welcoming for outdoor recreation.
Residents of all ages, from families, students, outdoors clubs and community groups, are welcomed to participate.
Organizers ask volunteers to dress for the day, bring gloves if possible and meet at the specified boat ramp by 8 a.m.
On-site instructions and trash bags will be provided. For anyone unsure of where to go, call 256-739-0266.
