CULLMAN, Ala. – ProWorx, a division of Brothers Concrete Supply, will host a hands-on Build a Pond Day on Thursday, Oct. 30, from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. The full-day training event will guide participants through the step-by-step installation of an 8’x11’ pond kit, using a variety and products and techniques — all completed in one day.
Open to all skill levels, from beginners to professionals, the event offers a practical learning experience for anyone looking to start or expand a business with water feature installations. Participants will also enjoy a sit-down Q&A session and lunch provided by Taziki’s Mediterranean Café. Admission is $50, and the location will be provided upon registration.
The project itself will take place at East Elementary’s outdoor classroom, where the newly installed pond will serve as a long-term educational tool for local students. “This build will not only enhance the outdoor classroom’s beauty, but it will also create a hands-on opportunity for kids to learn about water and aquatic life,” said Declan Yearwood, sales manager for Brothers Concrete Supply and ProWorx.
The idea for the event came after Yearwood’s mother, who volunteers at East Elementary and the North Alabama Agriplex, mentioned that the school’s outdoor classroom water feature needed repairs. “One of the teachers asked for assistance with their water pump for their existing water feature,” Yearwood explained. “We decided to donate an Aquascapes Water Pond Kit instead!”
Yearwood said the goal of the event is for participants to walk away with the skills and confidence to create their own water features. “We hope they have fun, learn and leave with confidence that they can tackle their own water feature project,” he said.
