HANCEVILLE, Ala. – Hanceville was back home to host a region matchup against Winfield Friday night and unfortunately for the home crowd, the Bulldogs are still searching for the first win. Winfield went into the locker room up 41-0 at halftime and Hanceville got some points on the board in the second half but couldn’t overcome the early deficit and the Bulldogs fell to the Pirates 48-21.

Winfield found the end zone three times in the opening period to jump out to a 21-0 lead going into the second quarter. The Pirates added to their lead in the second, tacking on three more touchdowns to extend the lead to 41-0 at halftime.

A touchdown pass from Hunter Black to Drake Bentley made it a 41-7 game early in the third quarter and the Bulldogs scored two more times to trim the lead to 41-21 at one point but they couldn’t chip away any more than that. Winfield found the end zone one more time in the final four minutes to cap a 48-21 win over Hanceville.

Hanceville (0-8) will travel to Phil Campbell for another region game next week.
