REMLAP, Ala. – Cold Springs hit the road for a big region game at Southeastern Friday night, and points were hard to come by in this one. After a scoreless first half, the Eagles led 8-7 with just under nine minutes remaining in the game but the Mustangs scored a go-ahead touchdown with just over four minutes on the clock and Cold Springs was unable to answer, allowing Southeastern to secure a 13-8 win.

The Mustangs had the ball inside Cold Springs’ 1-yard line in the final minute of the first, but the Eagles’ defense kept Southeastern out of the end zone and kept the game scoreless at the end of the first half.

The Mustangs scored with 49 seconds remaining in the third quarter to take a 7-0 lead into the fourth, but Cold Springs responded on the ensuing possession. Cooper Johnson punched one into the end zone to make it a 7-6 game and Ayden Black hit Eli Voce for the two-point conversion to give the Eagles an 8-7 lead with just under nine minutes to play. However, Southeastern answered on the next possession, scoring with just over four minutes on the clock to pull ahead 13-8.

Cold Springs was unable to answer on its final possession of the night and the Mustangs held on to defeat the Eagles 13-8.

Cold Springs (6-3) will wrap up the regular season at Falkville next week.
