HANCEVILLE, Ala. – The Wallace State Community College Culinary Arts and Horticulture departments and North Alabama Agriplex hosted the annual Taste of Cullman Grown Food Show on Oct. 9, celebrating locally sourced ingredients and farm-to-table collaboration. The event brought together area farmers, restaurants and the community for an evening of great food and local support.

Executive Chef and Culinary Arts Department Chair Aaron Nichols said the show was designed to connect growers with restaurants and promote the use of local products. Guests enjoyed dishes such as pasta alla vodka, barbecue and cheesecake, as well as avocado chocolate mousse, while students competed in a French fry scholarship contest sponsored by Sysco and Performance Food Group.

Proceeds from the event will benefit The Link of Cullman County, which serves hundreds of local families each month through its food pantry and outreach programs. Director of Operations Tiffany Wright said the funds will help stock the pantry and expand services through the winter.

“The need never goes away,” Wright said. “Partnerships like this help us feed more families and strengthen our community.”
