CULLMAN, Ala. – First Source For Women will host its annual Tinsel & Timber Live and Silent Auction on Thursday, Nov. 20, from 6-8 p.m. at The Venue at Cotton Creek in Cullman. Presented by My Cullman Doctor, attendees can look forward to a night of beautifully decorated Christmas trees, holiday décor and unique auction items. Guests are encouraged to dress in cocktail attire and enjoy heavy hors d’oeuvres prepared by Black Rock Bistro, homemade desserts, a charcuterie board and a hot chocolate bar.
“All proceeds benefit First Source For Women, a local faith-based nonprofit pregnancy resource center providing free services such as pregnancy testing, ultrasounds, mentoring, material items and parenting classes for women and families in our community,” said Valerie Hockett, community engagement manager of First Source For Women.
“Tinsel & Timber directly supports the mission of First Source For Women by funding the life-affirming services we provide at no cost,” Hockett added. “These funds ensure that we can continue to meet both program and operational needs, allowing us to lovingly walk alongside every woman who comes through our doors and give her the support she needs.”
This year’s live and silent auctions will offer a large variety of items, including fully decorated Christmas trees, local artwork, hunting and fishing gear, gift baskets, stocking stuffers and even a whole cow with custom processing included.
Individual tickets for the auction are $50 for open seating and reserved tables for eight are $500. Hockett encouraged anyone interested to get their tickets early, as the event is expected to sell out quickly. Tickets and tables can be purchased online at firstsourcefriends.org/events.
“Every ticket and auction bid directly supports First Source for Women and the free services that empower women to choose life and hope,” Hockett stated. “It’s a chance to celebrate the start of the Christmas season while making a real difference right here in our community.”
