CULLMAN, Ala. – Cullman Community Theatre is putting on Not-So-Scary Stories in the Park every Sunday in October. Families looking for a unique way to celebrate the Halloween season can enjoy free performances that take place every Sunday at 4 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. in Art Park.

These performances, written and directed by Aaron Johnson, mark the first time the Cullman     Community Theatre has staged an original show outdoors.

“We’re trying to do a free family event for the Cullman community, something a little different than what we’ve done before. This is the first time we’ve ever done an in-the-park, original show. We just wanted to add another option for people who have never experienced what Cullman Community Theatre has to offer,”  Johnson said.

Each performance features music, family friendly humor, giveaways, candy and an interactive theatrical experience designed to entertain attendees of all ages. With two performances in the books, Johnson said the community has responded enthusiastically since the show’s debut.

“The response has been fantastic. Kids seem to love it. It’s really another option for families this spooky season, not meant to scare, it’s to celebrate together,” he said.

The lighthearted performances are designed for all ages, and organizers hope the fun continues to grow in future years. “We’ve been really happy with the turnout,” said Johnson. “I’d love to see this become an annual tradition.”

Art Park is located at 1031 Second St. SW, Cullman.
