HOLLY POND, Ala. – Holly Pond was back home for a big region matchup against fourth-ranked Geraldine Friday night, and it was a tough night for the Broncos. Geraldine led 21-6 at halftime and the Bulldogs tacked on 24 more points in the second half to pull away with a 45-6 win.

A 43-yard touchdown run gave Geraldine a 7-0 lead early in the first quarter and the Bulldogs put together another scoring drive on their next possession to make it 14-0. Holly Pond answered later in the second quarter when quarterback Boston Gibbs hit Fox Westall through the air for a 26-yard touchdown and trimmed the lead to 14-6. However, Geraldine was able to find the end zone one more time just before the end of the half to take a 21-6 lead at the break.

Unfortunately for the home crowd, the second half was dominated by the Bulldogs. Geraldine scored midway through the third to extend its lead to 28-6 and the Bulldogs tacked on three more touchdowns in the fourth to pull away with a 45-6 win over the Broncos.

Holly Pond (3-2) will be off next week before traveling to Whitesburg Christian on Oct. 3.
