CULLMAN, Ala. – Drifters Bar & Grill on Smith Lake is hosting weekly Singo Bingo nights. Hosted every Monday at 6:45 p.m., Singo Bingo swaps numbers for song titles. A DJ plays 30-second clips of songs while players mark off titles on their bingo cards, aiming for a single line, two lines or full-card blackout to win.
“It’s free to play and really just something fun for the community. We wanted a way to bring people together whether it’s coworkers, families or teams to eat, laugh and enjoy themselves,” said Co-owner Tanya Vares, who runs the restaurant with her husband Jason.
Each game night features a rotating theme with genres ranging from golden oldies and country to classic rock and movie soundtracks. With over 200 music categories to choose from, the Vares family makes sure no two game nights are the same. Drifters has seen strong turnouts week after week, with regulars like the Good Hope softball team bringing energy and excitement. “It’s a fun, vibrant atmosphere,” said Tanya Vares. “Sometimes we even have dance-offs when there’s a tie.”
Prizes can vary from cash and gift cards to themed gift baskets and even larger items like a brand-new cooler giveaway sponsored by Vans. To complement the lively indoor experience, Drifters recently expanded its outdoor seating along the water and has updated its hours to Friday through Monday, 11 a.m.-9 p.m.
