CULLMAN, Ala. – A Hanceville man has been sentenced to 25 years in prison after pleading guilty to first-degree robbery. David Justin Farley, 49, was sentenced on Thursday, Sept. 17, by Cullman County Circuit Court Judge Emily Johnston.

According to court records, Farley has two prior felony convictions.

Cullman County District Attorney Champ Crocker, in a Facebook post, said, “Earlier today David Justin Farley pleaded guilty to a January 4, 2023 robbery that occurred on County Road 626 in Cullman County. Circuit Judge Emily Niezer Johnston sentenced Farley to 25 years in prison.

“I want to thank the Cullman County Sheriff’s Office for making a strong case for us to prosecute. I also want to thank Angela Harris, mother of Aniah Blanchard, who worked tirelessly to pass Aniah’s Law which had just taken effect before this offense, and which we used to hold this offender without bail on my first day in office on January 17, 2023. Justice was done today.”

Court records show Farley was indicted back on May 4, 2023, and that he was armed with a firearm when he stole a 2001 Dodge Durango from the victim.
