VINEMONT, Ala. – The Vinemont Town Council held its regularly scheduled monthly meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 9.
The council began by voting on a series of resolutions and budget approvals. Resolutions 2025-09-02 through 2025-09-06 were adopted (budget approvals), followed by Resolution 2025-09-07, which grants a 5% cost-of-living pay increase. The council also approved updates to the Town’s Policy and Procedure Handbook (Resolution 2025-09-08) and voted in favor of participation in the Employee’s Retirement System of Alabama (Resolution 2025-09-09).
Additionally, the council passed Resolution 2025-09-10, authorizing the installation of a three-way stop at the intersection of Roberson Street and Federer Street. Council members said the measure was taken in response to safety concerns about speeding near the walking trail and expressed hope that the new signage would help slow traffic in the area.
Other business included approval of a $3,000 purchase for a new digital sign to be installed in front of town hall. Council members also added to the agenda and approved a $1,000 direct support contribution to the Lighthouse sober living facility in Holly Pond. The meeting concluded with updates on upcoming events:
- The next Senior Citizens’ Day will be held at the Vinemont Community Center on Sept. 15, from 10 a.m.-1 p.m.
- The ribbon cutting for 2nd Amendment is scheduled for Sept. 13, at 2 p.m.; the store is located at 17949 U.S. Highway 31
The next meeting of the Vinemont Town Council will be on Tuesday, Oct. 14, at Vinemont Town Hall. The work session will begin at 5:30 p.m., with the meeting to follow at 6.
