HANCEVILLE, Ala. – The Hanceville Bulldogs were back home to kick off region play against Gordo Friday night and they had their hands full with the Green Wave. Gordo built a commanding 53-0 lead in the first half and Hanceville was unable to battle back from the early onslaught in the second half, leading to a 72-8 loss for the Bulldogs.

The Green Wave jumped out to a big lead in the opening period and were able to stretch that lead to 53-0 by halftime.

Gordo’s dominance continued in the second half as the Green Wave built its lead up to 72-0 at one point. Hanceville found the end zone late in the fourth quarter when Jace Leusby punched one into the end zone from 3 yards out. Hunter Black hit AJ Carnathan in the end zone for the two-point conversion, bringing the final score to 72-8.

Hanceville (0-3) will be back on its home field next week for a region game against Carbon Hill.
