CULLMAN, Ala. – Voters across Cullman County headed to the polls Tuesday, Aug. 26, for local Municipal Elections.
Unofficial election results are below, listed by municipality.
Baileyton
Council Place 2 Donna Kent and Place 3 Jack McGee were unopposed.
Mayor: Challenger Benny Guthrie got 58.33% (140 votes) to incumbent Windell Calloway’s 41.67% (100 votes).
Place 1: Incumbent Dewayne Sumner got 61.51% (147 votes) to challenger Dianne Whitehead’s 38.49% (92 votes).
Place 4: Kaleigha Fitch got 54.58% (131 votes) to Ginger Tucker’s 45.42% (109 votes).
Place 5: Challenger Taran Garrison got 65.27% (156 votes) to incumbent Greg Griffin’s 34.73% (83 votes).
Berlin
All candidates were unopposed, so there was no Municipal Election.

Colony
Council Place 2 remains open, with no qualifiers. The seat will be appointed. Place 1 Michael Johnson, Place 3 Mary Louise Parker and Place 5 Mallonee Hall were unopposed.
Mayor: Challenger Jasmine Cole got 65.98% (64 votes) to incumbent Curtis Johnson’s 20.6% (20 votes) and challenger Ethel L. Alexander’s 13.4% (13 votes).
Place 4: Lewanda Sharell Johnson got 70.83% (68 votes) to Theron Brown’s 5.20% (5 votes) and Alex Twitty’s 23.96% (23 votes).
Cullman
Council
Mayor Woody Jacobs and Place 4 Paul Schaffer were unopposed.
Place 1: Incumbent Brad Smith got 38.69% (1,115 votes) to challenger Chuck Shikle’s 61.31% (1,767 votes).
Place 2: Incumbent David Moss got 63.03% (1,831 votes) to challenger Peter Nassetta’s 36.97% (1,074 votes).
Place 3: Incumbent Johnny Cook got 46.04% (1,347 votes) to challenger Jason Willoughby’s 53.96% (1,579 votes).
Place 5: Incumbent Jenny Folsom got 40.25% (1,182 votes) to challenger Kim Hall’s 59.75% (1,755 votes).
School board
Place 2 David Wiggins was unopposed.
Place 1: Incumbent Jill Bradberry got 55.45% (1,537 votes) to challenger Tyler Caldwell’s 44.55% (1,235 votes)
Place 3: Incumbent Cheryl Harrison got 56.52% (1,573 votes) to challenger Jessica Svarney’s 43.48% (1,210 votes)
Place 4: Wayne Walker got 39.11% (1,115 votes) to Amy Wood’s 60.89% (1,736 votes)
Place 5: Incumbent Amy Carter got 32.52% (937 votes) to challenger Mark Britton’s 67.48% (1,944 votes).
Dodge City
Mayor Jason Burney, and council Place 1 “Chickie” Teeara Johns, Place 3 Jerry Lynn and Place 5 Robert South were unopposed.
Place 2: Heather Langley got 60.29% (41 votes) to Houston Turner’s 39.71% (27 votes).
Place 4: Samantha Duke got 46.15% (30 votes) to Chayton Grimmett’s 53.85% (35 votes).
Fairview
All candidates were unopposed, so there was no Municipal Election.

Place 5: Jordan Brasher got 34.48% (20 votes) to Barrett Hardin’s 65.52% (38 votes).
Good Hope
Council Place 2 Eric Phillips, Place 4 Greg Brown and Place 5 Taft Dillashaw were all unopposed.
Mayor: Incumbent Jerry Bartlett got 61.89% (216 votes) to challenger Larry Creel’s 38.11% (133 votes).
Place 1: Bill Brown got 51.33% (174 votes) to Renee Lee’s 48.67% (165 votes).
Place 3: Incumbent Susan Eller got 58.50% (203 votes) to challenger Preston Prewett’s 41.5% (144 votes).
Hanceville
Council Place 2 Robert Powell and Place 5 Nolan Bradford were unopposed.
Mayor: Paul Campbell got 69.1% (123 votes) to Christopher Johnson’s 16.29% (29 votes) and Robert Eugene (Bob) Long’s 14.61% (26 votes).
Place 1: Steven Clint Mann got 28.49% (49 votes) to Jana Casey Shelton’s 71.51% (123 votes).
Place 3: Incumbent Kim Newman Brown got 55.62% (94 votes) to challenger Alaina Kennedy Entrekin’s 27.81% (47 votes) and challenger Jacquelin “Joe” Twiss’ 16.57% (28 votes).
Place 4: Cameron Rowe got 68.02% (117 votes) to Oscar Santiago’s 31.98% (55 votes).
Holly Pond
Council Place 2 Deborah Holcomb, Place 3 Ricky Carr and Place 4 Paul Brown were unopposed.
Mayor: Incumbent Carla Hart got 63% (63 votes) to challenger Walter Wiseman’s 11% (11 votes) and challenger Jeremy Collier’s 26% (26 votes).
Place 1: Incumbent Julie Ray got 42% (42 votes) to challenger Thomas Dwight Kidd’s 58% (58 votes).
Place 5: Incumbent Gladys Wisener got 54.2% (52 votes) to challenger Patty Reid’s 45.8% (44 votes).
South Vinemont
Council Place 1 Kelley Little, Place 2 Nina Justice, Place 4 Michael Ashbaugh and Place 5 Ashley Shrader were unopposed.
Mayor: Shirley Arnett got 43.75% (42 votes) to Bonnie Goodwin’s 56.25% (54 votes).
Place 3: Marcus Callingwood got 34.07% (31 votes) to incumbent Ross Campbell’s 65.93% (60 votes).
West Point
All candidates were unopposed, so there was no Municipal Election. Since no one qualified for mayor or Place 1, those positions will be appointed at an organizational meeting the first week of November.
