FULTONDALE, Ala. – The Fairview Aggies traveled to Fultondale to kick off the 2025 season Friday night and they dominated from start to finish, returning home with a 48-0 win and a 1-0 start to the season.

Fairview got the ball to start out the game, and they didn’t waste any time finding the end zone on its opening possession. A 31-yard run by Jake Harper quickly put the Aggies at the 29-yard line, and he later broke free for a 23-yard run two plays later to put them at the two. He found the end zone two plays later on a 1 yard run to give Fairview a 7-0 lead. The Aggies got the ball back on the kickoff, as Jace Stevens recovered the ball at the 30. On the first play, Kolt Redding connected with Jordan Ellis for a 22-yard pass play, as that put them at the eight. Harper punched it in on the next play to make it 14-0.

Fairview’s defense forced a quick three-and-out on its opening possession, and they started their next drive at the 34-yard line. Rex Chandler and Harper pounded the ball on the ground for the Aggies, and Harper touched the ball on the final two plays of the drive, including a three-yard score, as that stretched their lead to 21-0. A weather delay caused both teams to head to their respective locker rooms. After almost an hour delay, both teams came back out onto the field, and Fairview’s defense forced another punt.

Another big run by Harper gave the Aggies a first down at the 44-yard line, and two plays later, Redding connected with Stevens on a 25-yard screen pass. On the next play, Redding found Conner Scott for a 19-yard score to increase their lead to 28-0 with 9:13 remaining in the first half. They got the ball back after another punt, and Chandler scored from a yard out to make it 35-0. Harper added his fourth touchdown of the game late in the first half on a 38-yard run, as Fairview ended up taking a commanding 42-0 lead into the locker room.

The running clock was in effect for the entire second half, and John Short found the end zone on a 7-yard run late in the fourth quarter. The Aggies ended up collecting a 48-0 shutout win over the Wildcats.

Harper finished with 191 yards on 13 carries and four scores in the game for Fairview. Chandler added 25 yards on the ground and a touchdown. Redding finished 7/11 passing for 115 yards and a touchdown, and Scott caught three passes for 36 yards and a touchdown. Joseph Harbison, Avery Latham, Alex Garcia and Harper each recorded a sack in the game for the Aggies.

Fairview (1-0) will head home to take on Springville next week.
