Funeral services for Edsal Earl Flanigan Sr., 67, of Colony will be 2 p.m. Saturday August 23rd at Hanceville Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be prior to the service from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m. at Hanceville Funeral Home.
Edsal Earl Flanigan, Sr., was born August 12, 1958, in Cullman, Alabama. He passed away surrounded by the love of his family on August 15, 2025. Edsal will be remembered for his laid-back nature, fun-loving spirit, and easy-going personality that made everyone around him feel at ease. He cherished time spent with his family and found true joy in the moments they shared together. His kindness, warmth, and genuine heart left a lasting impression on all who knew him, and he was loved by everyone.
Edsal’s legacy will live on through the love he gave, the laughter he inspired, and the memories he created with those dearest to him.
He will be deeply missed, yet fondly remembered by his family, friends, and the many lives he touched.
Mr. Flanigan is survived by his children, Antonio Hawkins, Torrey Hawkins, Edsal Earl Jr., Aundrey Flanigan, and Julia Johnson who he loved as a daughter; 16 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren; siblings, Gladys Hammond, Cecelia Barfield (Ronnie), Marlon Flanigan Sr., Michael Flanigan (Sherri), Sharonda Flanigan; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, 4 aunts, 2 uncles, and special friend Debra Flemming.
Mr. Flanigan was preceded in death by his parents, Norris & Bertha Flanigan; brother, Norris Lee Flanigan Jr., and his brother-in-law, Melvin Hammond.
