CULLMAN, Ala. – The North Alabama Agriplex’s Little Farmers Preschool Program gives children an opportunity to explore agriculture, nature and community through hands-on, kid-friendly activities. Children ages 3-5 (with an adult) meet one Friday morning each month throughout the school year. Each month includes storytime, stations, a craft and a snack centered around a different Jan Brett book. August’s session was inspired by Brett’s book, “Armadillo Rodeo.

Each program includes a mix of STEM, sensory, and creative activities, such as crafts, coloring, movement games, and snack time. Children also work on early learning skills such as numbers, letters, colors and gross motor coordination. Themes often highlight farm animals, crops grown in the garden and seasonal agricultural topics, introducing young learners to farming in ways they can easily understand.

Parents and guardians participate alongside the children, sharing the experience and bonding with other families as well. Many attendees appreciate the connections formed through the program, as they often see the same faces month after month.

The cost is $8 per child, with a $16 family maximum, and registration is available online at www.agriplex.org/WPtest/little-farmers.
