CULLMAN, Ala. – The Good Samaritan Health Clinic in Cullman is inviting the community to the inaugural Caring for Cullman Health & Wellness Fun Day, set for Saturday, Sept.13, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at 118 Veterans Dr. SW in Cullman.

Executive Director Jolanda Hutson said the family friendly event is designed to be both fun and impactful. “It’s going to be a day focused on wellness, healthy living and community connection,” she explained. “We’ll have live stage sessions, interactive demos, health and wellness resources, free screenings, food trucks and giveaways throughout the day. It is a free event that is open to anyone who would like to join in on the fun.”

She continued, “This is our very first Caring for Cullman Health and Wellness Fun Day, a brand-new event dedicated to promoting healthy living, encouraging collaboration among local organizations and celebrating the strength of our community.”

For the past several years, the clinic’s primary fundraising event has been the Caring for Cullman Concert, which Hutson called “a cornerstone in supporting our mission.”

She said, “Last year, our focus shifted toward raising funds for a major milestone — the construction of our new facility. We’re thrilled to share that, thanks to the incredible support of our local community and beyond, we’ll be breaking ground in just a few weeks. This Health & Wellness Fun Day is not only a celebration of that progress, but also a new way for us to connect directly with the people we serve and to continue building a healthier Cullman together.”

When asked what inspired the event, Hutson pointed to two main goals. “First, we’re excited to share some big news with the community: Good Samaritan Health Clinic is moving to a new location and building a brand-new clinic, right here at the site of our event. We want everyone to know about this next chapter in our story and to feel connected to it from the start.

“Second, we hope to increase awareness and understanding of what Good Samaritan Health Clinic does and who we serve,” she added. “Many people still don’t realize that we provide quality healthcare services to uninsured residents of Cullman County and that our services are available to those who qualify, at no cost to the patient. This gives us the opportunity to tell that story more broadly and personally.”

Hutson said the day will bring together health and wellness resources in one accessible, family friendly space, showcasing local organizations while offering attendees the chance to learn more about their own health in an engaging, hands-on way.

“Whether it’s someone discovering a service they didn’t know existed, learning something new about their health or simply spending meaningful time with family in a positive setting, we believe this day will be a spark for lasting change,” she said.
