CULLMAN, Ala. – Meet Dixie, The Cullman Tribune Pet of the Week! She’s a 4–5-year-old Border Collie mix whose zest for life is simply contagious. While her robust physique may be the first thing you notice, those extra pounds are steadily melting away, revealing a healthier, more active frame.
Even more striking than her physical transformation is her remarkable personality. Dixie’s alert, optimistic demeanor radiates joy, and she cherishes every person she meets. She’s a true “lover of life,” making friends everywhere she goes.

Already spayed, Dixie’s adoption fee has been reduced to just $35, which includes vaccines, microchip, wormer and a general vet exam.
Visit the shelter at 935 Convent Road NE. It’s open Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. If Dixie is no longer available when you arrive, don’t worry — many of her friends are also waiting for their forever homes.
