FAIRVIEW, Ala. – Mayor Keith Henry commenced the monthly session of the Fairview Town Council on Aug. 4, 2025. The meeting opened with an invocation led by Julie Grimes and the Pledge of Allegiance led by the mayor.
The meeting opened with Mayor Henry introducing some special guests in attendance. Clint Hayes, Eddie Robertson and Devin Henry. Fairview’s Municipal Election was slated to take place Aug. 26; however, all seats are unopposed. Hayes is the sole qualifier for mayor. Mayor Henry announced last month that he will not seek re-election. Devin Henry will be assuming Place 2 on the council in place of Joseph Black. Robertson will be assuming Place 4 on the council in place of Robert Johnson. Devin Henry and Robertson are both running for their positions unopposed. Places 1, 3 and 5 will remain unchanged, with Charles Banister, Steve Eddleman and Julie Grimes retaining their seats.
Mayor Henry encouraged the upcoming mayor and council members, stating, “We will have one more meeting before you take over. Between now and November, I’ll be glad to go over anything with you, lay your finances out to you and update you on any projects we’ve got going on. I’ll be glad to assist you in any way I can.”
There will be one election on Aug. 26. The State House District 11 General Election will take place that day, with polls open from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Candidates are Republican Heath Allbright and Democrat Alexandria Braswell.
The next order of business concerned the local trailer park demolition. In January 2025 the council voted to close the trailer park located on Wesley Avenue and have residents relocated by June 2025. Now that the park has been vacated, the council has been taking bids for a company to complete the demolition and cleanup of the area.
After the most recent advertisement period, only one company submitted a bid. A&G Construction submitted a bid for $55,000 and stated the job could be completed within a 3-4 week period. Mayor Henry made the recommendation to decline the bid due to the high expense. The council agreed and voted to table the discussion for another month to explore more cost-effective options.
In new business:

- Projected opening date for Jack’s Family Restaurant is Dec. 1, 2025
The next Fairview Town Council meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. on Sept. 1, 2025, at Fairview Town Hall located at 7525 Alabama Highway 69.
