CULLMAN, Ala. – The Cullman Housing Authority will hold a Community Conversations event on Wednesday, July 23, from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at the Hilltop Community Center. It’s an event designed for residents.
CHA Executive Director Marquisha Griffin said this is the first event of its kind for the agency.
“Your Voice, Your Home: Community Conversations was developed as a proactive effort to foster more intentional and direct engagement with the residents we serve,” Griffin said. “The idea originated from my commitment to ensuring that residents have a clear line of communication with agency leadership, providing a safe, open forum where their voices are heard, their concerns acknowledged and their insights valued. This initiative reflects our ongoing efforts to build trust, promote accountability and encourage a resident-centered housing experience. Additionally, it is my goal to ensure that as the executive director I remain visible, accessible and responsive to the community I serve.”
Griffin said the goal of Your Voice, Your Home is to create a welcoming space in which residents can speak openly, ask questions and share their experiences directly with agency leadership.
“Residents can expect an honest and respectful dialog focused on listening, problem-solving and partnership,” she said. “This event is about more than just addressing concerns; it’s about building stronger relationships, and working together to improve the quality of life for all who call our communities home.”
Griffin said she does anticipate hosting additional Your Voice, Your Home forums in the future.
“While we’re starting with this initial event, my hope is to make it a recurring opportunity for open dialog, potentially on an annual or semiannual basis,” she said. “I believe consistent communication and connection with our residents is essential, and I look forward to exploring how we can continue these conversations in meaningful ways moving forward.”
The first event will take place Wednesday, July 23, from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at the Hilltop Community Center at 1545 Vine Circle in Cullman. Refreshments will be served and all residents are welcome.
