GOOD HOPE, Ala. – Smith Lake Veterinary Hospital opened its doors to the public on Saturday, June 28, for its grand opening.
Veterinarian and Owner Morgan White and her husband Daniel White said they welcomed over 200 people to tour their facility and enjoyed an afternoon of family fun with face painting, snow cones and giveaways.
“We enjoyed this opportunity to show the community some of what goes on behind the scenes in veterinary medicine,” Dr. White said. “Informational stations were placed throughout the hospital where guests could learn about the importance of annual wellness exams, routine dental cleanings, parasite screening and prevention, among other services.”
White said the veterinary office has an imaging room for digital x-rays and more, as well as a surgery room equipped with a heated surgery table.
“We will be offering a full line of in-house diagnostics, including digital x-ray, ultrasound, bloodwork, etc.,” she said. ”Many community members and their pets came out to welcome us and book appointments during our first week, which began June 30. We loved meeting everyone and their four-legged family members.”
White said readers can follow the Smith Lake Veterinary Hospital Facebook page for updates and to keep up with the “catch” of the month.
“We are doing a cast net theme to go with the lake where we will feature a senior pet and puppy/kitten of the month,” she said. “Folks can have their pet’s pic taken when they come in for an appointment and we’ll attach those to the cast net and then do a drawing at the end of each month.”
White said the public wanted Saturday availability for appointments — so that was added to the schedule. Smith Lake Veterinary Hospital will also offer a bath service.
